We are well on the way to Winter, another grey November day! We need warming winter foods to keep our immune systems boosted. Vegetables from the onion family boost immunity and help to fight infection. Try to include garlic and onions with lots of other vegetables in your diet as much as possible.
Remember to drink plenty of water and herbal teas to assist hydration, and protect us from the harsh Winter climate. A warming Winter recipe:
1 large onion, 2 cloves garlic, 1 sweet potato, 1 carrot, 2 potatoes, mixed fresh chopped herbs, Cut all the vegetables in to cubes and stem or boil for 5 minutes. Place in roasting dish and toss in coconut oil and small cube of butter. Cook for 40 minutes in a medium to hot oven. Great eaten on its own, or served with salmon, chicken and some fresh steamed spinach or brocolli.
Now is also a good time to reassess supplements and be prepared to enjoy some of the beautiful Winter scenery that will inevitably soon appear!
